ABOUT ME
In addition to my academic and professional endeavors at the University of Michigan, I am married to Shelly, a highschool English teacher at Saline (MI) High school whom I've known since the 7th grade. I try to keep in shape through distance running and trying to keep up with three boys, ages 19, 17 and 14
I am happily married to Shelly, a high school English teacher in Saline, Michigan. We love to travel, endure distance running, and enjoy sports (her favorite is baseball, mine is ice hockey). She has taught me how to be a better teacher, a better parent and a better husband. I am very proud of her as she herself is starting to pursue a graduate certificate in instructional design. The best part of this is that I will have my own "live-in" consultant!
I have been a flight nurse since 2003 with Survival Flight at the University of Michigan. I also simultaneously worked for West Michigan AirCare from 2008 to August of 2016. While recently stepping down from this position I definitely miss my colleagues and Friends in Kalamazoo!
I am NOT an athlete, but I have run a number of marathons. I have the goal of one day running the Boston Marathon. I'm still trying to prove that distance running isn't just for the young!
